Top 10 Most Visited Countries In The World

If like me you are daydreaming of getting back out to see a little bit more of the stunning world we live in after this crazy year, you'll probably be wondering where to go first! Here are our top 10 places to visit in 2021 to give you some travel inspiration.

Some of the places on this list are currently closed or have restricted travel but hopefully as the year progresses more places will open up for tourism. Under each of our top 10 countries, we've selected a few personal highlights with some amazing pictures to show them in all their glory.


With 89.4m visitors annually France is the most visited country in the world.

Second, to the most visited countries, America has always been a popular travel destination due to its spiral of a metropolis and small-town charms. Travel trends include city hopping and road trips. New York claims to have over 800 different languages spoken within the city.

Spain is a top holiday destination for Europeans. Best known for the sunny climate and beaches, great food and affordable prices.

There are lots of historical sites to see and rich cultures to experience.

China is the 3rd largest country in the world and is in the top 5 world tourist destinations because of its natural landscapes, expansive history and delicious cuisine. China has the world's oldest continuous civilisation, from villages dating back thousands of years to ancient marvels like the Great Wall of China, Shanghai has the fastest train in the world, and Beijing’s Forbidden City is the world’s largest palace.

Natural attractions include the Huangshan mountain range which inspired scenes in Avatar.

Home to some amazing world heritage sites including the Coliseum, Venice, the Vatican, Florence, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pompeii, Naples, Sicily, the Italian Alps, the Amalfi Coast, the Italian Riviera and Lake Cuomo.

Italy has culture, history and cuisine in abundance making it a very popular tourist destination for people all around the globe.

Located on two continents Turkey offers a unique blend of East & West. It has an abundance of stunning coastlines and charming resorts, ideal for any romantic getaway or family vacation. Russia has hosted many global sporting games across its wondrous cities and while some of its famous geological and natural landscapes are located quite far from each other, they are undoubtedly worth checking out! The country’s most famous attraction is Lake Baikal, the oldest and deepest lake in the world.

Thailand has been a popular tourist destination for decades thanks to its white-sand beaches, delicious cuisine and hot weather. The capital Bangkok is the most visited city on the planet. The 1430 islands of Thailand draw in hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, with its most popular spots including Rayleigh beach, co-pp and the grand palace of Bangkok.
